| | David Lempriere-Laughton Pianist David Lempriere-Laughton is a highly sought after solo and collaborative artist who has been critically acclaimed across Europe and the USA for performances that combine dazzling technique with impassioned musicianship. He has appeared in recital at many of the world's major music centres, including Carnegie Hall, New York; Wigmore Hall, London; the Louvre, Paris; Jubilee Hall, Singapore; the Cologne Philharmonie; the Royal Concertgebouw of Amsterdam; the Dimitri Metropolous Hall of Athens and the Palais des Beaux Arts of Brussels. His numerous prizes include the 1994 Hephzibah Menuhin Memorial and 1998 Darius Milhaud awards and he was one of the top ten finalists in the 1997 Cincinnati World Piano Compeition.
A regular concerto soloist and active chamber musician, he was named the 1994 Performer of the Year by Australian radio 3MBS-FM following his performance of the Grieg Piano Concerto with the Geminiani Chamber Orchestra and has been featured at numerous international festivals, including Ravinia, Van Cliburn, Caramoor, Brisbane and Bad-kissingen. After being awarded a Fellowship with Trinity College London at the age of 17, Mr Lempriere-Laughton obtained a Master of Music degree from the Juilliard School in New York as the winner of the Olga Samaroff Scholarship majoring in piano performance and pedagogy.
In addition to his concert appearances, Mr Lempriere-Laughton also maintains a busy schedule as a teacher and adjudicator and numbers among his students finalists and prizewinners at major national music competitions in the UK and Japan. His students range from beginner through to diploma and A-level and he is currently based in London's Notting Hill when he is not touring.
